The journals of the Academy have a long history. The first journal was published as far back as 1728. As for contemporary journals, JETP has been published since 1873; Eurasian Soil Science, since 1899; andZoology, since 1916. Authors of journal articles, members of the editorial boards and editors–in–chief of the journals represent the leading scientists of the country, members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Nobel and National Prize winners. Among the editors–in–chief of the journals are world–famous scientists: academicians Y.S. Osipov, N.A. Platé, E.B. Alexandrov, Zh.I. Alferov, A.F. Andreev, N.P. Laverov, I.P. Beletskaya, Y.V. Gulyaev, B.P. Zakharchenya, Y.A. Zolotov, G.S. Golitsyn, V.G. Kadyshevsky, A.A. Boyarchuk, G.P. Georgiev, Y.M. Pushcharovsky and others.
